Drinking milk when eating foods containing garlic helps to prevent garlic breath.
Because garlic is so healthful it should be eaten often. Among its attributes, garlic is a great natural antibiotic. It’s helpful for the heart, lowering of cholesterol, and many other health benefits.
According to tests conducted at the Ohio State University Food Science and Technology Department, scientists have discovered that it requires whole milk or 2% milk in order to reduce the garlic breath odor. They recommend sipping the milk as you eat the garlic. Since the digestive system isn’t able to break down the allyl methyl sulphide compounds that cause the classic bad breath odor, the milk neutralizes the compounds first. Theoretically, dairy foods such as yogurt and ice cream should also produce the desired effect.
