Pretend you are a garage sale customer. How would you like to find clothes arranged at a garage sale? Would you like to find clothes neatly arranged, piled, and hung? Would you prefer to find clothes by size and gender? What arrangement would save you the most time? This is what your customer is going to want to find at your garage sale.
To display clothes at a garage sale, the most preferred method customers appreciate is having clothing hung on racks for ease in examining the garments.
Set up 2 step ladders and tie a pole, wooden dowel, wooden curtain rods, or PVC pipe between them.
Tie a broomstick to 2 sawhorses for short items like blouses, shirts, children’s, and babies clothing.
Tension shower and curtain rods can be used in small areas with 2 solid objects to hold them firm.
A large link chain hung between 2 ladders, or between 2 trees makes a nice clothesline. The hangers can be placed into the links keeping the hangers separate.
Have a clothesline perform double duty. A rotary clothesline can hold a lot of clothes.
Portable hall-type coat hangers can be taken outside for the day of the sale.
Baby clothes can be placed on hangers too. Use clothespins to hold them onto the hangers.
Inexpensive clothing racks are an investment that can be used forever. When you decide you aren’t ever going to have another garage sale you can easily sell the clothing racks to someone looking for clothing racks for their garage sales.
