Recipe For Breakfast Sausage

This is a very simple, easy to make, at-home sausage from ground beef. It has less fat and calories than commercial sausage yet has all the flavor and heat that one craves from sausage.

Breakfast Sausage

1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 Tbsp fennel seed
1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Note: The amount of cayenne pepper depends on how spicy the sausage will be.

Mix the spices into the ground beef.

Place in refrigerator overnight to marinate.

When ready to prepare heat pan with oil.

Form meat mixture into 4 to 6 patties.

Brown on both sides for 4 to 5 minutes until thoroughly cooked.

Serves 4 to 6.
