Is Asparagus Really an Aphrodisiac

Food Tip of the Day

Forget chocolate and oysters, try asparagus as an aphrodisiac instead.

While more of a fact of trivia than truth, back during the seventeenth century of Hippocrates, many foods were considered passion foods.

However, asparagus is a very healthful food. It is high in folic acid, potassium, fiber, vitamins A, B6, C, and thiamin. Vitamin B6, folate, and potassium are all necessary for healthy hormones related to the reproductive system.

It is a plant of the lily family so if there is an allergy to onion or garlic, be careful eating asparagus.
