Photograph items that you don’t sell at your next garage sale. Especially high-priced items like furniture, kitchen appliances, TV’s, computers, etc.
One of the best ways to get monetary credit for items that don’t sell at a garage sale is to donate them to an organization, charity, school, church, or give to Good Will.
Make a list of the items you donate. Keep the receipt along with a photograph of each item as proof that you actually owned and donated the items.
Photos can be simple photographs made with a digital camera or phone. Just so the item is clear. Also photograph the serial numbers on items that have them. Use the photos for a tax deduction.
That’s just one extra tip to making money with a garage sale.
