Best Month For a Garage Sale

April is the most profitable month for garage sales.

After being housebound all winter, people are anxious to get out and shopping for bargains at garage sales. April usually brings warm days so that garage and yard sales can be enjoyed again.

The next best time for garage sales is a fall sale in September or October when the temperature isn’t sweltering hot. A fall sale is the best time to sell old winter clothing, blankets, Halloween costumes, and Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations. Board games, craft supplies, and other hobby items are good sellers as people are planning for indoor activities for the coming winter months.

If the temperature is cool, hot chocolate or warm apple cider will be appreciated by customers while they shop.

While August is not the favored month for garage sales, the second Saturday of August is celebrated as National Garage Sale Day. August is a good time to sell children’s clothing and school supplies.
