Household Tip of the Day
One of the most challenging decisions to make when planning a garage sale is knowing how much to price the items so they will sell.
If you want to do much haggling, you can price your items at a higher price with the intention of going down to whatever the customer offers you. However, this plan can backfire since some buyers don’t like to haggle. They prefer to pay the price listed on the sticker.
Garage sale stickers with prices already printed on them look more professional than hand written stickers.
According to some garage sale experts, a general rule of thumb is to charge 30% of the full price for larger items that are in excellent condition. Most other items should be marked at 10 to 20 percent of their original prices.
