Cleaning Tip of the Day

One of the oldest tricks used for eliminating musty smells is to place a few drops of vanilla extract onto a light bulb.  When the light is turned on, the scent will spread the lovely scent throughout the room.

Vanilla extract can be used almost anywhere in the house to remove musty and undesirable odors.  The easiest way to use vanilla extract is to place a few drops on a cotton ball and place in the room where the odors are present.  This works in desk drawers and closets too.

In the winter, placing a few drops of vanilla extract onto a cotton ball, and inserting it into a heating vent will make the house smell fantastic.

Baking vanilla cookies is a delicious way to make a house smell warm, comfy, and friendly for holiday visitors.

Professional home cleaning services can add vanilla to other herbal mixtures used for home cleaning if the homeowner requests it.

A vanilla-soaked cotton ball makes a great air freshener for the car when secretively placed under the seat.
