Lemon and Tea for Weight Loss

Lemon and Tea for Weight Loss

Health Tip of the Day

Tea contains antioxidants that help with weight loss.  Lemon enhances the fat-burning properties of these nutrients.

Green tea contains a phytonutrient called EGCG.  This catechin lowers appetite, curbs cravings, and increases metabolism.

Adding lemon juice to every cup of tea increases the body’s assimilation of EGCG.

While all teas are helpful in weight loss, a few are more beneficial than others.

Green tea is the most well-known for weight loss.  In one study, 60 obese participants lost 7.3 pounds in 12 weeks while drinking green tea.

Other studies showed that oolong tea increases energy and even boosts fat burning during sleep.

White tea, a lightly processed tea, boosts metabolism and even aids in the melting of fat cells.

Pu-erh is a robust black tea with a high concentration of caffeine.  It is an aged and fermented tea that can bring small amounts of weight loss.

According to the “International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism,” drinking matcha tea half an hour before exercise increases the body’s speed to burn fat.
