Cooking Tip of the Day
Hamburgers are easy to make when one follows these professional chefs’ tips.
A plump, juicy hamburger doesn’t happen by accident. Lean ground beef can result in dry hamburgers because of the low-fat content. To put more moisture into the burger, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of ice water into each pound of ground beef.
Another trick is to put a small ice cube into the center of the meat patty. It will melt when fried, baked, or grilled, and no one will know the secret.
To prevent burgers from becoming saucer-shaped, make a slight depression into the top center of the burger. This will keep the burger flat.
When burgers are done, let them sit and rest for 3 minutes before serving. The juices will be retained, producing a very tender and delicious hamburger.
