Water left over from boiling whole eggs can be used in numerous ways. Water from poaching eggs can also be saved and used.

Cooled boiled egg water can be used to water house plants to give them much needed nutrients. The boiled water is especially high in calcium.

According to experienced gardeners, using boiled egg water for tomatoes can help prevent blight.

The boiled egg water, or poached egg water, can be used as a base for gravies, sauces, and soups.

Boiled water can be drank for it’s high calcium content. If vinegar is added when boiling eggs the water will have the added health benefits of cleansing, nutrition, and is delicious. Herbs and spices can be added for different flavors. If salt is added when boiling eggs, use less, or none at all, to avoid an overconsumption of sodium.

Do not use on plants if vinegar or salt is added.
