Cooking Tip of the Day
Here are the 3 most commonly used methods used by homemakers and professional chefs for boiling hardboiled eggs easy to peel.
Adding salt to the water before boiling eggs. The salt penetrates the shells which helps to separate the shell from the interior egg.
Vinegar added to the water before boiling helps to weaken the shells.
Add one-half teaspoon of baking soda for every 4 cups of water. Boil eggs as usual. The baking soda increases the pH of the egg white. By increasing the acidity of the egg white, it loosens the connection of the white and the inside membrane of the egg shell.
Regardless of which method is used to boil the eggs, always soak the boiled eggs in cold water for a few minutes before starting to peel.
