Drinking black tea and green tea can help protect against coming down with colds and flu.

Studies at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University show that a natural ingredient in tea called L-theanine, helps to support the immune system. One cup of tea contains 20 to 25 mg of L-theanine.

An article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reported that drinking five cups of black tea a day for two to four weeks can make the immune system strong enough to gain natural resistance to infection.

Teas are also very effective for lowering blood pressure, weight loss, cancer, lowering blood sugar, and even AIDS.
