Keep coffee hot all day without electricity. There is an easy, inexpensive way to keep coffee hot all day without leaving a coffee maker on.
Modern day versions of the good, old-fashioned thermos bottle are the answer. These vacuum-insulated flasks can keep coffee hot for 5 to 14 hours depending on the quality of the thermos.
To prepare the thermos for the hot coffee, fill the thermos with boiling water and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes with the lid tightly closed. After the time is up, empty the thermos, and pour in the coffee. The coffee will not remain hot throughout the day.
A thermos with a stainless steel liner will never taint the flavor of the coffee. The coffee will taste freshly brewed to the last drop.
To clean the thermos, put a teaspoon of baking soda in, add water, let sit for 30 minutes, and rinse.
These thermos bottles can also keep coffee and other beverages cold for up to 14 hours.
