Lavender For Hot Flashes

Lavender For Hot Flashes

Health Tip of the Day

The scent of lavender is one of the best ways to ease hot flashes and night sweats for women in menopause.

Scientists report that lavender oil has an estrogen-like effect on hormones in the body.

Studies show that sniffing lavender for 20 minutes a day for 12 weeks can reduce hot flashes.

The lavender scent can be inhaled by diffusing lavender oil in a diffuser, soaking in a bath with a few drops of lavender oil dropped in the bathwater, or enjoying a cup of lavender tea before bedtime.

Placing a lavender sachet inside the pillowcase can cut the frequency of night sweats by fifty percent.

A study conducted in 2007 found that a massage with lavender oil is helpful for reducing hot flashes.

When away from home, one or two drops on a napkin or handkerchief, can be inhaled for instant relief.
