Banana Peels for Skin Care

Banana Peels for Skin Care

Beauty Tip of the Day

One of the best skin conditioners available isn’t in the cosmetic aisle; it’s found in the produce aisle.

Bananas contain Vitamins A, B, C, and E. In addition to vitamins, they contain amino acids, starch, carbohydrates, calcium, protein, lectin, zinc, and pectin. These are all nutrients necessary for healthy skin.

Feet can be relieved of dry skin and calluses by rubbing the soles with the inside of a banana peel. Leave on for about 15 minutes and rinse. Within a few days, feet will be baby-smooth.

Acne can be significantly diminished in just 5 to 7 days by gently rubbing the inside of a banana peel on affected areas. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse. Repeat as necessary for new lesions. The enzymes in banana peels will also help to fade scars.

The oil in banana peels can help to wash ink from hands. The oil in ink is attracted to the natural oils in the banana peel. Rub the inside of the banana peel onto the ink spots, and rinse with soap and water as usual.

Banana peels, rubbed onto insect bites and poison ivy rashes reduce swelling, inflammation, and itching. Apply as needed. The vitamin E in banana peels is what helps ease poison ivy rashes.
